Tuck Wilson
Guest Artist Programs
In a typical performance workshop,  Tuck performs a program of historically significant folk songs and explains
the background and significance of each.  Songwriting workshops interweave the performance into a creative
writing workshop in which students write an original song while Tuck facilitates.
Songs from the performance are used demonstrate the craft of songwriting.
Whether you choose a performance or a writing workshop, your students will find the day truly memorable.
Current Workshops:
Workshops are a great way to bring history alive
and to engage students in the writing process,
especially poetry. Adding a melody improves
students' ability to hear the meter and enhances
rhyming skills. Tuck acts as facilitator while students
write their own songs or as the class participates
together in a "class" song. Tuck uses folk and pop
songs to discuss a variety of approaches to
songwriting, while he uses his editing skills to
demonstrate first-hand the craft of songwriting.
Tuck has been performing in coffeehouses,
on college campuses, and at concert halls
and music clubs since he was in high school.
