Educational Workshops
by Tuck Wilson
Songwriter / Entertainer
These performance-based workshops bring history and literature to life for your students using
historically significant folk songs.  They can be followed by student-participation workshops in
songwriting to provide a memorable educational experience for your class or school.
Current Workshops:
The songwriting workshop is an excellent program for
English classes working on writing skills. Students
frequently find song lyrics less intimidating than other forms
of poetry, and a melody improves their ability to hear the
meter and enhances their rhyming creativity. For younger
students, Tuck acts as facilitator while the class writes a
song as a group project. Older students may write or bring
a song of their own, and Tuck will select several to use in a
discussion of approaches to songwriting, while
demonstrating first-hand the craft of songwriting.
In each workshop, Tuck performs a
variety of songs, explaining the historical
background and significance of each, or
using the songs as examples to explain
the craft of songwriting.
Call or e-mail to learn about scheduling a workshop.

Tuck has been performing in coffeehouses, college campuses, and concert halls since he was in high school.
